10 all-star chefs who pushed American cuisine to new heights this year will descend upon New York City from around the country for a night of culinary magic. The third annual Eater Awards will recognize the top restaurants, chefs, and culinary talent, but for the first time ever…you’re invited.
This Sunday, November 11th, Eater brings to you Eater Eve, the exclusive awards preview, where these powerhouse chefs will assemble at the Bowery Hotel to bring to you a public tasting to showcase some of the mind-blowing dishes they’ve been cooking this past year.
For a little preview to some of what you may be tasting, PDX’s critically acclaimed Greg and Gabrielle Denton have announced they are bringing their homemade donuts, and stuffing them with meat. That’s right—short rib, a healthy serving of marrow, and quince jam all inside of a donut. Other dishes to look out for are Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski’s famous fried quail, which they will pair with their very own “World Peace” Almond Milk, as well as Jeff McInnis’s innovative take on an American classic dish, short rib “meat loaf” and whipped mashed potatoes.
The full list of chefs who will be cooking for you throughout the evening include:
-Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski of SF’s State Bird Provisions
-Tim Cushman of Boston’s O Ya
-Greg and Gabrielle Denton of PDX’s OX
-Michael Doyle of NOLA’s Maurepas Foods
-Ford Fry of Atlanta’s The Optimist
-Justin Hilbert of Brooklyn’s Gwynnett St.
-Jeff McInnis of Miami’s Yardbird/Swine
-Justin Yu of Houton’s Oxheart
Doors open at 6:00 PM, so come enjoy an evening of incredible chefs, food from 2012’s hottest restaurants, plus an open bar. Eater will be donating a portion of the proceeds to fund Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. Find tickets and more information here.
