Small Batch Vodka is Distilling in Brooklyn

Tuesday night we visited the guys at Industry City Distillery to celebrate the launch of their No. 3 vodka, the third batch from their Brooklyn distillery warehouse.  Small batch vodka… have you heard of such a thing?  Rarely do serious drinkers choose to sip on straight vodka and enjoy the delicious flavors of the clear spirit.  Why?  Well, vodka is not exactly known for its abundance of flavor qualities but rather a strong nose of pure alcohol.  Great for mixing, not so great for sniffing.

But Industry City Distillery is here to change all that with their unique vodka made from perfected distilling techniques.  Now that they have released their third batch of delicious (yes, delicious) tasting vodka, the small team of bearded Brooklynites is ready to start amping up production.  While currently you may not easily find the small bottles labeled with No. 1, No. 2 or No. 3, soon you may see them popping up at your local liquor store.  If you do, we strongly recommend nabbing a bottle to bring home and pour yourself a glass.  And if you are curious about what exactly goes down in the Industry City Distillery warehouse (in pictures below), you should definitely make it to one of their Sunday tours.  Their distilling process and the space itself will blow your mind.

It’s Vodka…But Not As We Know It

Five guys: a former yoga teacher, a sockeye salmon fisherman, an engineer and two Cooper Union alums. Naturally, running Brooklyn’s newest vodka distillery.

A distillery that just blew our minds, and is turning the world of vodka on its head.
