Underground Dating With “How About We…”

Underground Eats is proud to announce its partnership with, How About We…”  for its new product designed for people in relationships, “How About We..for couples”.  Still in its pre-launch stage, the “off-line” dating site offers a unique platform that helps New York couples keep the spark alive by curating fun and adventurous dating experiences.  Rather than go through the daunting process of planning out dates, “How About We…for couples” does all the dirty work by offering a wide range of couples-friendly activities, whether it be a romantic day at the spa or a group couples dinner, or a lovely day bike riding through Central Park.

The new monthly subscription service, “How About We…for couples”, will help fan the flames of love by offering couples the opportunity to choose out of 10-15 specially curated events each month.  Underground Eats will turn Underground Love Guru by partnering with this new dating site to produce culinary experiences for couples, two of which will be launching today on the site for its preliminary members (membership will be open to the public soon).

Couples currently on “How About We…for couples” will have the opportunity to create their dream dinner for two, with the personal help of Top Chef alum, Dave Martin.  With Martin’s help, each couple will decide on a menu and receive a gift basket with everything they need to make their dream dinner at home a romantic success.  For those couples who wish to be a little more social, they can take part in chef David Santos’ (known for his impressive stints at Per Se, Bouley, and Hotel Griffou) Um Segredo Supper Club series with a delicious five-course menu made especially for couples (which will appropriately feature aphrodisiacs like oysters).

Underground Eats is thrilled to promote love, food, and love of food through this new collaboration with “How About We…”  So change up that go-to “catching a movie” date, or prevent that dull pause during the “grabbing a drink” date, and spice things up a bit with one of our specially curated dating options.  Spread the love.

Chefs and Champagne: Coverage of the Festivities

It was a beautiful summer evening in Sagaponack, Long Island this weekend as hundreds of food enthusiasts, chefs, and vacationers flocked to the picturesque Wolffer Estate Vineyard for this year’s Chefs & Champagne New York event.

With plenty of bubbly and wine being poured, tipsy, hungry guests mingled with rockstar chefs and sampled exquisite food by premier restaurants like Eleven Madison Park, Craft, The Modern, Hot & Hot Fish Club, Junoon, North Fork Table & Inn, and Acme.  Between bites of spiced quail with thyme–fennel relish (an amazing dish by Jehangir Mehta) or grilled chipotle shrimp with heirloom tomatoes by chef Chris Santos of Beauty & Essex,  one may have caught glimpse of Todd English tirelessly shucking oysters for mouth-watering fans or Ted Allen “clink-ing” champagne glasses with fellow Chopped judges Marcus Samuelsson and Geoffrey Zakarian.

With too many James Beard Award winners to count in attendance, the evening was packed to the brim with crowds, food, interesting conversations, and plenty of star-gazeing.  Browse through the above photo gallery for event highlights.
