Mastering the Art of Julia Child Restaurant Week

Starting today, 100 restaurants around the country will be paying tribute to the late Julia Child for what is being called, Julia Child Restaurant Week in honor of what would be her 100th birthday on August 15th.  This week, participating restaurants will be celebrating her life and legend by offering special Julia Child-inspired dishes and prix fixe menus.

New York City restaurants include Union Square Cafe, MareaAureole, Madison Bistro, Buvette, and Jeanne & Gaston.  Fully appreciate Child’s masterful cooking with Union Square Cafe’s $65 prix fixe tasting menu featuring dishes like mussels with herb mayo and roasted duck with peaches.  If you prefer to sink into one rich, decadent meal, try Marea’s lobster thermidor or Buvette’s coq au vin.
