Starting May 24th, the Hester Street Fair will be bringing some of their deliciousness to Midtown with their weekly “Hester Nights” held every Thursday evening at the Hotel Eventi Courtyard. Complete with food offerings by Pies n’ Thighs, Melt Bakery, La Sonrisa and more, Thursdays just got a lot more exciting for Midtown foodies.
West Village hot spot, The Lion will be jet-setting to London for the summer allowing Londoners to see what all the fuss is about. For two months, chef John DeLucie will be offering The Lion’s signature menu items (think truffle mac n’ cheese, chicken pot pie, The Lion burger “special blend,” among others) at the elite Brompton Club in London’s Kensington Hotel. Typically an exclusive, members-only club, the Brompton Club’s The Lion pop-up will be open for non-member access, but; just like with DeLucie’s NYC restaurants, it wouldn’t hurt if you are a celebrity.
“Beware the man who lives to eat, as opposed to the man who eats to live,” is the paraphrased quote by Socrates which inspired restaurant manager Eryk Pruitt of Durham, North Carolina, to create the dark comedy-horror short film, Foodie. The 29-minute film pokes fun at trendy “foodie” culture by depicting an elite underground supper club during which the snooty members enjoy gourmet human flesh. Foodie had its first screening this past Thursday with a party complete with drinks, music and of course, the foodie’s favorite, food trucks.
