Food really is the new rock, with a slew of delicious music festivals headed up by celebrity chefs taking over the UK.
First up is this weekend’s Wilderness festival headlined not by bands but by chefs Fergus Henderson, Yotam Ottolenghi and Valentine Warner. Forget burgers and hot dogs: Henderson will be serving white cabbage and brown shrimp salad, with onion tart and roast vegetable salad also on the menu. Festival goers can also take cooking classes and indulge in cocktails by London’s esteemed Spanish restaurant Moro.
Jamie Oliver teaming up with ex-Blur bassist Alex James for a foodie music festival, appropriately named The Big Feastival on September 1st-2nd at Alex’s farm in Oxfordshire. Sure, there’ll be music from Paloma Faith, Razorlight and Texas, but sharing the line-up is food by Barbecoa, Jamie’s barbecue restaurant created with barbecue king Adam Perry Lang, street food bites and artisan food markets.
What to wear to a food-music festival? Japanese label Tee Party have come out with a range of meat-centric t-shirts perfect for the carnivore or ironic vegetarian. The only problem is deciding, bacon or salami?
